Chaga Mushroom Tincture

- Description
Chaga Mushroom Tincture
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a distinctive fungus that grows primarily on birch trees in cold northern climates. It has a long history of use in northern European and Siberian herbal traditions, where it was commonly prepared as a tea or decoction for general wellness.
Chaga is valued for its naturally occurring antioxidant compounds, including polyphenols and melanin-like pigments. Traditional uses and modern laboratory research have drawn interest in its potential antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune-modulating properties. More human research is needed to determine how these properties translate to benefits from chaga tinctures. To learn more about chaga, check out my chaga tea & medicinal mushroom posts.
Our Chaga Mushroom Tincture is prepared in small batches using dual extraction, combining alcohol and hot-water extraction.

Safety Considerations
Chaga can contain high levels of oxalates, and kidney injury has been reported with prolonged, high consumption. People with kidney disease or a history of kidney stones should consult a healthcare professional before use. Chaga may also affect blood clotting and blood sugar, so people taking blood thinners or diabetes medications should seek professional advice before using it. A common practice is to take chaga for 3 weeks, then take a week off.
